According to data published by the State Construction Control Bureau, it is clear that the average office building in Latvia is being overheated. Overheating in the office building segment is widespread due to a lack of interest, whereas a private house has an owner who cares about proper heating. The situation in office buildings is often different – managers are not interested in heat consumption, because it is the office tenant who pays for it, while the office tenant has no idea about technical solutions and whether the building's heat energy consumption is appropriate for the building's structure.

This means that the building's heat supply is not regulated properly, resulting in employees complaining about air quality and keeping windows open not for ventilation, but for heat regulation. Technically, precise regulation is not easy because the weather is very variable – here comes the sun, the wind direction, the air humidity. It should be emphasized that regulating the building's heat node based on outdoor air temperature is not sufficient and does not provide results, as evidenced by our clients' data.

For this reason, new office buildings are equipped with BMS (Building Management Systems), but just as a smart home alternative to a private house is a smart thermostat, office and public buildings also have such an alternative available – the MESH BMS smart thermostat system. The principle is identical – to ensure individual and precise climate control for each room with minimal investment.
